How many gifts should I prepare for those who come to collect the garbage?

Original post made by holidaygift, Southgate, on Dec 5, 2010

I think there are three trucks, each with two men. Is that a total of 6 gifts?

Good question. I used to put some money in an envelope and tape it to the underside of the lid when I could leave the garbage inside my gate. However, now I put all these bins on the curb and I am concerned that someone else could easily steal these envelopes and the real trash collectors never receive my gifts. So if someone has a suggestion of how to thank them, I'd like to know too.

The mail carrier -- I try to hand it personally and also avoid a substitute getting the gift.

I think they prob appreciate money most.

Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund

For the last 23 years, the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund has given away more than $4 million to local nonprofits serving children and families. When you make a donation, every dollar is automatically doubled, and 100% of the funds go directly to local programs. It’s a great way to ensure your charitable donations are working at home.
