280 South, Sunday 1am, a dozen police cars and 3 closed lanes

Original post made by Chris on Oct 5, 2010

Any idea what that was all about Sunday around 1a.m. on 280 south around the Sand Hill exit? Lots of police cars and officers milling around, but didn't look like there had been an accident.

That was the end of a 75 mile chase. A kidnapping suspect went from San Jose, through Palo Alto and Los Altos, up to San Mateo into San Francisco and back down 280 where it ended at Woodside Road.

The caravan of police cars seemed like it took about 10 minutes to pass. It was pretty wild. Glad the lady and her baby were safe.
