Smit, Smith among the top three at L.A. Grand Prix swim meet

Stanford product and Olympian Julia Smit finished third in the women's 200 individual medley Saturday at the Los Angeles Grand Prix swim meet. Her former Cardinal teammate, senior Liz Smith, did her one better. Smith claimed second place to Olympian Rebecca Soni in the women's 200 breast. Soni led the race from start to finish while Smith fended off challenges from Caitlin Leverenz and Keri Hahn to win the silver.
