It's a track split for Stanford in the annual Big Meet with Cal

One streak continued but another ended in the 2010 Big Meet, the annual track and field showdown between Stanford and California. In the 116th meet for the men, Stanford won its fourth straight, 98 1/2 to 64 1/2. On the women's side, Stanford and Cal took an exciting meet all the way to the 1,600 relay before the Bears clinched the meet, 84-79, by winning the final race of the day in Berkeley's Edwards Stadium.

Thanks so much for this story. The Chronicle reported only "Stanford won the men's easily," and they didn't say much about the women's meet except that the result came down to the relay. Thank you for the details.
