no more fizzy tap water?

Original post made by Ron on Feb 18, 2010

Anyone else have clear tap water today? My tap water had been fizzy for the last couple of months, but is clear today. Did the water treatment plant get rebooted after the power failure?

I read something that the water folks in Utilities have been doing work and to expect some air bubbles in the system over the next few weeks. The lack of water use and the main pumps being off yesterday may have allowed some of the trapped water to get purged.

When I asked about the fizzy, white water, someone at the Utilities dept told me that they had been experimenting with the pressure of the water, which is what was causing the white appearance. The water has been fizzy throughout Palo Alto for many weeks.

My tap water was fizzy since the beginning of the year, but turned clear during the power failure and is still clear today. No one else is experiencing this?
