Stanford's Smit shatters two world swim records

Julia Smit of the United States set the short-course world record in the women's 200-meter individual medley on Saturday, swimming 2:04.60 at the Duel in the Pool meet, beating the mark 2:04.64 set by Evelyn Verraszto of Hungary earlier this month. On Friday, Smit broke the world mark in the 400 IM.
