Even implicitly comparing Ailes to Richards using dig totals is unfair to both players, as digging is a much larger chunk of a libero's responsibilities than it could be for any non-libero except a DS (and a DS can only play half as many rotations as a libero, so an excellent defensive six-rotation outside hitter would easily out-dig an excellent DS).
