Biden: Clinton might have been better running mate

Original post made by Stephen, Old Palo Alto, on Sep 10, 2008

Is Biden resigning soon?

Today from CNN

"Boy, did Biden come up with a whopper today. If you listen closely enough, you can almost hear the tell-tale intake of breath coming from Obama/Biden headquarters.

It's the sound of a whole bunch of people getting punched in the solar plexus at once.

CNN's Alexander Marquardt reports that at a townhall meeting on Wednesday, one person in attendance told Biden he'd been chosen as Barack Obama's running mate over Hillary Clinton.

Biden responded "testily," according to Marquardt, saying:

"Make no mistake about this, Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let's get that straight.

She's a truly close personal friend and she is qualified to be President of the United States of America, she's easily qualified to be Vice President of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me."

Still, there is a bright side. At least he didn't call anyone "clean" or "articulate."Web Link

A great literary work from Salon todayWeb Link

Sarah should read from it verbatim at her press conference, in Scranton Penn. , they will appreciate the nuanced quality of the prose there.

Quotes, for full text follow the link

"Palin may have been a boost of political Viagra for the limp, bloodless GOP (and according to an ABC/Washington Post poll she has created a boost in McCain's standing among white women to a 53 over Obama's 41).

But ideologically, she is their hardcore pornographic centerfold spread, revealing the ugliest underside of Republican ambitions -- their insanely zealous and cynical drive to win power by any means necessary, even at the cost of actual leadership.

As a woman who does not believe what Palin believes, the thought of such an opportunistic anti-female in the White House -- in the Cheney chair, no less -- is akin to ideological brain rape.

[ I like that "akin." Important to qualify these things, harry]

Sarah Palin and her virtual burqa have me and my friends retching into our handbags.
She's such a power-mad, backwater beauty-pageant casualty, it's easy to write her off and make fun of her.

But in reality I feel as horrified as a ghetto Jew watching the rise of National Socialism."

Hmmmm, very nuanced don't you think

How amusing, so Biden is preparing his escape from the Obama melt down already, he wants to preserve some dignity after the bubble bursts

This is what, the third try a the executive branch by this famous son of a Welsh Coal Miner

The rats are leaving the sinking ship , sorry about the use of 3 metaphors in one post, but this is really funny, bring on the clowns, maybe streisland can sing that at her fundraiser for Obama in LA, I will give that a pass. I am going to the other event.

I don't believe it. That is uncharacteristic humility for any politician, even Mrs Palin.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
