Palin Will Avoid the Media

Original post made by Why I Am Not Surprised?, Green Acres, on Sep 5, 2008

A senior McCain campaign official tells Marc Ambinder that, "despite the gaggle of requests and pressure from the media, Gov. Sarah Palin won't submit to a formal interview anytime soon. She may take some questions from local news entities in Alaska, but until she's ready -- and until she's comfortable -- which might not be for a long while -- the media will have to wait."

The best line I heard about Sarah Palin during the frenzied orgy of chauvinist condescension and gutter-crawling journalistic intrusion that greeted her nomination for vice-president a week ago came from a correspondent who knows a thing or two about Alaska.

"What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?" "One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

"The other kills her own food.

Sarah wants to go on Oprah, but is being discriminated against,

why can she not talk to American women on Oprah?

Hey Joe-Bob (a.k.a., "Sharon"):
How about Ms. Palin goes on "Meet The Press" first to talk about how her extensive background in foreign policy and domestic issues (and not just oil drilling) makes her qualified to be a heart-beat away from the Presidency and also discuss her specific policy positions (like no abortions allowed even in cases of rape or incest) -
THEN she can go on to do a "fluff appearance" on Oprah!

I'm kinda hoping the Pork-Barrel Princess will answer a few questions about stonewalling on Troopergate and those lovely earmarks.

Is Oprah Biased? Host Won't Interview Palin
Republican VP Nominee Sarah Palin Isn't Welcome on 'Oprah'

Winfrey, who publicly endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama in May 2008, is being widely criticized by some fans of the show who say she's being unfair and biased.

Winfrey is actually doing a disservice to her predominantly female audience, many of whom look for inspiration in the guests who appear on the show.

She's doing an injustice to women by not having Palin on,Palin is a wonderful role model of what we're all trying to do as working women -- which is everything.

Well, well, I thought Oprah was "discriminating" against Palin before, at least now she's down to biased.

You know something, it's her show, she's not obliged to interview Palin or anyone else. Getting interviewed on Oprah isn't a right.

So tasering an 11 year old is appropriate conduct for a policeman? My, what flexible standards some folk have.

I lost it with the tasering an 11 year old. What does this have to do with Palin's interviews with the press? And when did Oprah become part of the press? At least she could start with her propaganda team on FOX, say O'Reilly and Rush. I'm sure she won't have any hard questions there and they won't discuss the economy.

Quayle didn't stop H.W. Bush from being elected. Palin isn't going to be a major factor either. Probably the best thing is to ignore the VP candidates altogether unless they take over Foreign Policy like Cheney.

Palin is not avoiding the press, her handlers are avoiding the press on her behalf. Her handlers are Carl Rove's prodigies and they know a thing or two about manipulating the press.

They say it doesn't matter what her views on foreign policy are because the voters don't care about foreign policy.

So, we will never hear her views on creationism, global warming is a lie, and the Iraq war as being "a task from God" or even foreign policy.

Why am I not surprised.

You live in a City where the people running it will not talk to the citizens, the public. And that is fine for you. You have no problem with that?

You own home(The city) is so screwed up, does what you are posting about. CRYING ABOUT!

but why should you care about your own home, When you can just turn your back on what is going on and attack someone else.

Whoa, thread drift.

Interesting, Obama simply pointed out that the Alaska gov. loves her pork barrel.

The numbers *are* pretty damning. Basically, Alaska's a socialist paradise.
