Biden Announces The Appeasement Platform Of The Democrats

Original post made by Joel J, Duveneck/St. Francis, on Sep 1, 2008

From Haaretz, Israel's leading newspaper comes word that Slow Joe Biden has previewed the Obama foreign policy to a stunned Israeli military:

"Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden was quoted Monday as telling senior Israeli officials behind closed doors that the Jewish state will have to reconcile itself to a nuclear Iran.

In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed "opening a additional military and diplomatic front."

Biden, chairman of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has long been considered strongly pro-Israel. His nomination as Barack Obama's running mate had been expected to shore up the Democrats' strength with U.S. Jewish voters.

Army Radio said Israeli officials expressed "amazement" over the remarks attributed to him.

"Israel will have to reconcile itself with the nuclearization of Iran," Army Radio quoted Biden as telling the unnamed officials.

"It's doubtful if the economic sanctions will be effective, and I am against opening an additional military and diplomatic" front."Web Link

American supporters of Israel have to understand that Obama-Biden is a disaster for Israel's security.

It would be Carter II, but without the keen insight that Carter brought to Iran policy.

Well, Joel according the article you posted this "news item" is according to an unsourced report.
Could the report have come from, oh I don;t know, Rush Limbaugh, maybe???
Speaking of unsourced where did this part come from:
"Army Radio said Israeli officials expressed "amazement" over the remarks attributed to him."
It's not in the article you posted
More fantasy land from McCain operatives on this forum

Samuel--and I wish people would not believe every story that appears on this forum.
Right now, this an "unsourced report".
Sounds suspicious to me. No, actually it does not, I know by now that the Republicans will do anything to win. They have played the race card in the past and now are playing the "does not support Israel card". Very pathetic.

Disinformation is a classic Rove trademark.

Given that McCain lost the 2000 nomination in part because of Rove's smear tactics about the "black baby" in South Carolina, it's all the more amazing that McCain's even speaking to Rove.

Politics does make strange bedfellows.

Israel Army Radio and Haaretz, Israel's leading newspaper would not report this story unless it had credibility.

Obama/Biden are following in Carters footsteps and we already know rev wright's and Obamas foreign policy team's views on Israel and the Israeli lobby.

I think we need to keep our options open in pursuing our national interests. We do not have friends, we have common interests when it comes to policy.

However, I cannot understand why Biden would make such statements in the context of a highly volatile situation, he cannot choose his family or what his family says or does, but he can choose what comes out of his mouth.
I am really concerned about his judgement in this matter, particularly as he is supposed to give adult supervision to Obama

I understand why Biden would make such a statement - he has confidence that no medium but blogspace will will give it any airing, and no one believes the pajamaheddin.

From fox news website:

Web Link

From that article:

"Israeli officials also said the original story appeared "dubious."

"We have no idea if someone is misinterpreting a statement or if Biden really could have said this because it sounds incoherent," one Israeli foreign ministry source told FOX News. "It's a bit odd that Biden would say something like this. If someone had to reconcile itself with a nuclear Iran it would be the U.S. It sounds not like him."

I should have predicted your response, Pam. I guess the truth has no place in your political view.
What is the "desperate attempt"? The quotation from the Israelis that the story is dubious?
So anything goes vs the democrats. but if you criticize a republican it is a "vile attack"? i'd like to think that most republicans have not lowered themselves to your level.

obama is upset about the attacks on palin, because it's showing the rest of the country how mean-spirited his liberal base is - nice to see them as they really are -

it's always revealing to see progressive liberals who espouse choice, tearing down women who make the choice to keep the baby. obama vited for late-term abortion, including the death of a live-born fetus! maybe that would make the liberals happy?

Pam--you are concocting stories and fairy tales. The "progressive liberals" are not "tearing down women" who make the choice to keep a baby.
First of all what is Palin's daughter's choice? has she been consulted?
Also the issue was raised about Palin's total opposition to any sex education and now here daughter is sexually active at age 16.
Alos I suggest instead of relying on hysterical, unfounded comments, you look up the facts regarding Obama's stance on late-term abortion.

Nice to see, though, how hysterical republicans become when their candidate is doing so badly especially now that he has an ethically challenged, secessionist governor as his running mate

"the issue was raised about Palin's total opposition to any sex education and now here daughter is sexually active at age 16"

you're funny, liberals who get sex ed are the ones who want abortion, right? // am enjoying all the attacks on palin//will enjoy even more as she destroys biden in debate, and slowly but surely helps mccain to take this one by a nose

Good news to contrast with with Bidens betrayal

Palin, joined by Sen. Joe Lieberman, expressed her "heartfelt support for Israel" and spoke of the threats it faces from Iran and others, the campaign official said.

"We had a good productive discussion on the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship, and we were pleased that Gov. Palin expressed her deep, personal, and lifelong commitment to the safety and well-being of Israel," AIPAC spokesman Josh Block said. "Like Sen. McCain, the vice presidential nominee understands and believes in the special friendship between the two democracies and would work to expand and deepen the strategic partnership in a McCain/Palin Administration."

just wait 'till mbna bill surfaces "When the Senate Judiciary Committee approved the bill early in 2005, Biden, Dianne Feinstein of California and Herb Kohl of Wisconsin were the only Democrats to vote with the Republican majority. Biden also voted for the bill on final passage in the Senate, while Obama voted against it." - - Web Link - -

So, Pam, McCain also voted in favor of the MBNA bill, but that will not be held against him?
Interesting thought process (I would say all these posts are bordering on the hysterical due to obvious fact that McCain is in serious trouble)
