I have to admit, I was totally into Obama around the time of the California primary. Even though I'm an independent, I voted for him anyway. I really did not want to see Hillary win. Now, I regret supporting him. I feel that Clinton probably would be a better choice at this point. I think she's much closer to the center than Obama, and that's what I'm looking for. Sorry Hillary - its partially my fault.
So many of my friends and neighbors are Obama people, and I think they've just been drawn into his amazing charisma. No doubt, its powerful, but he continues to be vague on many issues, and unfortunately crystal clear about his desire to place a greater financial burden on people who make more than 250K a year, who he loves to say "are doing really well." Mr. Obama, come here to Palo Alto where gas is still at or over $4.00 a gallon, and pre-school costs $700 a month. Yes, we are doing fine, and spending money, but we won't be doing it much longer if you lift the cap on social security and impose who-knows-what other taxes on us.
The gas-tax holiday blew up in Hillary's face, but it shows she has a greater sensitivity to our pocketbooks.
If Obama changed his magic number to $500K, I'd be a lot more reassured.
