Boy, this guy seems like the typical super-dumb jock. My guess is that being the football team captain made him think he didn't need to get an education. Th team he played for was notorious for being unruly and borderline criminal and caused the school to terminate the 2003 season.

Interesting how not one of the racists in the other crime posts cared to comment on this story.

Oh, don't give up on life, bigots, surely you can find a way to blame EPA and/or illegal immigration for this crime, too.

Hm, maybe they read that he was from Woodside and their heads exploded.

white, green, red, black, yellow it doesn't matter..he commited a crime and he will be punished and if he has a record already then he should pay dearly.

As both the victim and the perp are the same race how is racism involved?

Sexism the feminists could wail, but it sound like the guy is crazy.

RWC, If he was a PA Council members or High ranking PA Employee family member. He would be walking.
If his parents know someone like the Govenor or a Senator, WALKING.
Well maybe the back of his hand would get a little baby slap.

To Palo Alto loyals anyone not living in Palo Alto or not thinking the palo alto way, IS A MINORITY.

You TOO RWC.

Yup he sounds crazy no mention of "the record" as being a past felony or felonies

This new criminal assault with a deadly weapon and causing bodily injury could be strike #2 & strike #3. Or the end of the road #4.

This frumpy tough guy could get 25 to life. You can bet someone would be more that happy to show him the in's and out's of prison life.

Do all of you have nothing better to do that put your opinion out in the world? Don't judge someone that you do not know! Clearly, those of you who are judging him are ones who have never had a struggle in life!

PS. Being the captain of a football team has absolutely nothing to do with having a criminal record! The Woodside Football team went 13-0 the following year to become CCS Champions and none of them have turned out as criminals!

Get a life!

What does "have never had a struggle in life!" have to do with threatening to cut off someone's finger with a knife? Or cutting that persons body with a knife?

This woman had to struggle for her life with this person, why?

Maybe you are the one that needs to evaluate your life? O-resident of Woodside?

Jon Blekis has done wrong in his life and taken the wrong path, BUT being a part of the Woodside football team that got their season cancelled or just being a football player in general has NOTHING to do with these mistakes. There have been how many other players from that team that haven't committed any crimes... Psycotic problems go much deeper than playing high school football.

He's not from Woodside. he just went to the school there. There were students in the same class from EPA, Fremont, RWC and many other cities, there aren't only children from Woodside that go to that school.

You are all so right. No talk about putting cameras to watch for criminals coming from Santa Clara.

Wonder what ever happened to "the driver waiting for him"...?????

Guess this type of incident is just a warm up lesson for the holiday shoppers ahead of us this season. You have to be sooooooo careful and be aware of your surroundings. ALL the time.
For all of those who ended up with the beautiful two plus karat diamond wedding ring, perhaps you can remake your vows ( romantic!)and trade up for a custom made band that isn't so flashy and save the glam for special occasions..or save it for the grandkids. And~least you still will have all your fingers intact...and a great time shopping....not to mention a possible fantastic new honeymoon!!

my heart goes out to the poor woman who has forever had her life altered by some crazed drugged out thug who thinks it is his RIGHT to cause such trauma on an innocent lady who is out minding her own business shopping and wearing her own wedding ring for gods sake! I have read things about racism here, what does that have to do with anything?!! anyone has the god given right to be out shopping or anyone else wearing whatever they want with out some piece of crap robbing and injuring them. Jonathen would have gotten a face full of pepper spray had he tried to rob me. Obviously this thug is as dumb as a rock and I hope he spents all of his youth and then some in prison.

captain jack a real intellectual genius.

What does this criminal's past have to do with threatening a woman's life. Is this person so weak he must attack women. All I see and read about this man/boy is he is like all thugs a coward. I'm sure there will be some people at state prison to edumacate him.

This should teach young people not to do drugs. Once you become an addict all that matters to you is drugs. I feel sorry for his poor mother.
