It's too late for us to continue adding large developments on expensive land for profit. We need to focus on (1) where are we going to get the water we need, (2) a better process for cleaning our air and therefore improving the quality of life of Bay Area people, (3)laws that protect our farmlands from losing the water they need to cities that don't need huge growth but rather slow, thoughtful growth that preserves our farmlands and our supply of clean water.
The next large projects in the pipeline should not be built in Palo Alto. Developers should be directed to communities not yet overbuilt. The City Council should put into place the recommendations made by the former City Auditor. We do have large per taxpayer revenue.
