An amazing number of enlightened intellectuals are enraged if you present facts that run counter to their agenda - even if they support it from a different platform! They can get real pissy with you if you agree for the wrong reason!(?)

Obviously Kellie Pickler is doing just fine without knowing where Budapest is. I bet she cannot even recite the state capitals, that beloved device of my teachers who were too lazy and/or too unintelligent to educate.

Too many educational critics have themselves not learned a fundamental truth: life is not a game of trivial pursuit. Knowing how to learn what one needs to know is far more useful than accumulating a brainful of random unrelated facts.

Imagine a President who doesn't know Capitals of States/Nations..or who our allies are and who aren't...(might yet get one like this!)

We haven't had to imagine that since 2001.

I agree, a president should possess a detailed knowledge of history and geography. It's part of the job. But it's been many, many years since anybody asked me about the capitals of North and South Dakota, or Illinois, or Oregon.

Pop quiz: Quick, do you pronounce the capital of Lousiana as "New Orleens" or "New Orleyannes"?

Answer: No, "Baton Rouge" ;-)

Same old tired assertion that Bush is an uneducated idiot.

Don't you guys ever get tired of this canard?

OH, Paul, did you go to Yale, and was your GPA higher than Kerry's? ( Bush's was.

Has anyone lately asked Obama if it is ok to invade an ally? If it is ok to forego the Constitution in Presidential powers? If it is ok to go against a Supreme Court ruling as President?

Oh yes..we are pretending he never revealed his ignorance in these matters.
