Legal Defense Fund for Children's Theatre Staff

Original post made by Mac Clayton on Feb 6, 2008

I think it would be a good idea to raise money to pay the legal fees that Pat, Allison and Rich will incur in defending themselves. I'm sure none of them has much money.

The community outpouring in support of the Children's Theatre has been amazing, making me wish all the more fervently for a just and speedy resolution of this matter. It is now apparent that our City Council believes (wrongly, in my view) that it can do nothing. It is only through good legal representation that Pat, Allison and Rich can now be protected.

I don't think we should assume that there will be any legal fees. Assuming the staff of the theatre doesn't have much money and posting that in a public forum is demeaning and presumptuous. They all earn lots more than many single parents I know in the area.
