Original post made on Jan 30, 2008

It makes sense that if elementary and secondary schools are increasing enrollment, that the third level educational schools will follow with increasing numbers of students. Since Foothill has always been a stopgap for many PA high school graduates, plus those doing middle college, it would make sense that these colleges are also feeling the pinch.

What we really need is more college spaces statewide. This has to start with the private colleges and top UCs and continue at all levels of tertiary education.

California's population is growing and housing is keeping up with it, but somehow it is always education that lags behind. With the increasing population forecasted for the future, we should work now to improve education, not wait until the schools (all of them) are overcrowded. Think ahead.
