Hoover Park

Original post made by Lucy on Jan 27, 2008

Does anyone know when Hoover park is supposed to be reopened? I thought it was supposed to open mid january, but it seems like nothing gets finished on time. This time i guess you can blame the weather.

Jesus Ramos park has also been closed for renovations. It was supposed to reopen in November. It has just been reopened and the fences removed this last weekend, that's two month behind schedule.

If you walk up to the park and there is a sign says the project should be ended on 1/31

How did you find the improvements? My JLS student used to ride his bike through this park everyday on his way to and from school and I hadn't realised it was now open.

Resident: For the many thousands of dollars the City invested in Jesus Ramos park, it looks just the same. However, I understand they installed a whole new watering system, then they had to relay the lawn areas.

The answer to Hoover Park:
In talking with staff, they claim that the park will be open in the next 2 weeks. They have been delayed because of the rain. Installing new picnic tables was planned to be near the end of the project. They have been installed. I predict the park will re-opne mid-February.
