How do we honor veterans and their families here in Palo Alto?
Original post made by john, Old Palo Alto, on Jan 17, 2008
One local cemetery used to put flags up at veteran grave sites, Memorial Day,but they said it took two men three to four days just to put out the flags!
And, maybe there are ways living veterans and their families are honored, such as being recognized, or thanked, in public, and soon. Not as a political thing.
So, I thought someone might know the history of this, have a photo, or maybe propose something appropriate for all those thousands who served, and many died, for us, and for this country and for freedom.
