Hey, Pingyu! I voted for you!

Original post made by Democracy Lover, Fairmeadow, on Nov 6, 2007

Whatever the outcome of the election, your candidacy has been victory itself.

I was charmed by your wholehearted gusto as a candidate taking part in the democratic process. Your absolute delight in participating in democracy reminded me that I should not take for granted my right as an American to vote. I was born American, but today, you are more American than I!

Thanks for the civics lesson!

Pingyu,

Thanks for your refreshing decent positive spirit and non-political answers to questions...I, too, respected your candidacy and felt heartened by your straightforward caring demeanor...no dramatics, no ego, no sense of entitlement --just a positive willingness to serve and sense of joy in democratic process...almost like a Frank Capra or Jimmy Stewart film...hope you never lose that positive spirit and ability to see the best in people regardless of background--never felt like you were wary of or worried about being too close to one group or another, you approached everyone with equal humbleness and respect....hope you will continue to participate and volunteer in our educational community.
