Bush Gives Musharraf Tips on Eliminating Democracy :-)

Original post made by Anonymous on Nov 5, 2007

Some humor for your morning.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Mr. Bush said that while he commended General Musharraf's impulse to eliminate democratic institutions, he felt that the military strongman was going about it the wrong way: “When you're getting rid of democracy, the last thing you want to do is tell people you're doing it."

Bush needs a taste of his own "veto" medicine to the American people. Who does he really think he's vetoing? The democrats or the American people? Let's give him a taste of his own medicine - Impeachment!

Let's tell Bush who's really in charge - the American people. Fire him.

I just realized how funny it all is that really Bush really let the loss of democracy up to the American people.

Sheer complicity on our part has a lot to do with why Bush is still President. After all, he did win the majority of the vote three years ago.

Dictatorship is what the American people want. Loss of freedom is the American way! :)

Get a grip ! the danger here is that Pakistan does have weapons of mass destruction - nuclear- and the rocket technology to deliver them-- not to us but to India and the Mid East.

The talk of impeachment is childish-- the Democrats are afraid to do it-- and with good reason. If they tie the country up in such a childish tantrum they will loose everything in the next election and be out of power for the forseable future.

Those opting for mob rule need to read A Tale of Two Cities.

Frank,

Scaredy cats, that's what Americans are. You are ruled by fear. Fear of the Iraqis, fear of the Iranians, fear of the Pakistanis, fear of everything. Fear rules your world.

There are many countries in the world that have nuclear weapons, including the United States.

Your fear has caused the loss of our democracy and the destabilization of the world. If you stopped fearing so much and started reaching out beyond yourself to make friends, I wonder if you fear the Pakistanis so much.

Funny you should mention "A Tale of Two Cities." Here's a comparison between the Robespierre and the Jacobins, aka "The Defenders of Liberty", and our current administration and their supporters. (You are with us or against us!)

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Heading said: "Stick to the Devil you know."

Koyoto and Law of the Sea are steps down that lily path.

Al, you must be joking...we have lost our democracy and de-stabilized the world?

WE destabilized the world? When did you wake up? Did you miss the ..lost track..12 was it?? world wide terrorist attacks against Americans and others that we ignored, so which lead up to 9/11 (because we blissfully ignored them?).Are you referring to THAT stable world? Or are you referring to the stable world that allowed Saddam to kill over a million people before Bush took office? Or the one which has tolerated the genocide/tortures/atrocities in Darfur et al in Africa for these many years?

I actually have hope now to be able to visit a peaceful part of the Middle East sometime in the next 10 years, the part that has Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Israel, Qatar, Lebanon, and maybe even Palestine. THAT never entered my mind 10 years ago as being a reasonable hope.

As for losing our democracy..I, as a lesbian, freely voted today, with no fear of being shot by extremists or captured by my govt and "raped into straight" as happens in so many other countries,..I voted today openly and freely. Last I checked, that is what a democracy is. Of coure, a democracy accepts the outcome of its votes and doesn't try to let the minority vote take over, unlike what HAS happened in the last 5 or so years, so maybe that is what you are referring to? The continual attempts to undo the majority wishes?
