Palo Alto's Boyd is trying to relive a dream season
It was only one year ago that the Palo Alto High football team was nearly halfway through the greatest season in program history -- a 14-0 campaign that ended with a state championship. A few month later the Paly baseball team would begin its season, one that would end in that program's first-ever Central Coast Section title. Perhaps not too surprising, B.J. Boyd was a big part of both those teams.

Gunn rolls to its first victory of the season in a big way, 47-6
==B Friday's prep football== After scoring just 31 points in its first three games, the Gunn football team probably figured it was time to get its offense going. The Titans picked a good time to do just that, opening its SCVAL El Camino Division with a 47-6 blowout victory over visiting Harker on Friday night.

==B High school football== ==I M-A, Menlo both win their openers== If there were any questions about how Palo Alto would start the football season after winning the CIF Division I state championship last year, senior running back B.J. Boyd answered them on the first play of the 2011 season.

Palo Alto football, volleyball teams begin state title defenses
The curtain goes up on special seasons for the Palo Alto football and girls' volleyball teams on Friday. The big question facing both squads is whether they'll get stage fright. Members of both teams participated on the biggest stage of their lives last season and performed to standing ovations as each claimed state championships.
