Paly football a victory away from league title; Gunn, SHP and Menlo all victorious
While a Central Coast Section playoff berth is wrapped up, Palo Alto still has a little work to do to win the SCVAL De Anza Division football championship. It comes down to just two scenarios. Bears earn an unconventional, long-awaited football win
The way Menlo-Atherton's football team earned its first victory of the season Saturday over Leigh was quirky, unconventional and as far as the Bears were concerned, long overdue. A completed two-point conversion and a subsequent fumble recovery ultimately earned the Bears a 21-20 victory over visiting and previously unbeaten Leigh. (Saturday, September 26, 2009, 8:09 PM)
