Paly football a victory away from league title; Gunn, SHP and Menlo all victorious
While a Central Coast Section playoff berth is wrapped up, Palo Alto still has a little work to do to win the SCVAL De Anza Division football championship. It comes down to just two scenarios. But, no matter what happens, the Vikings are headed to the CCS playoffs with Sacred Heart Prep and with perhaps Gunn and Menlo joining them.

Palo Alto, SHP and Menlo all win big in football
It was just one of those crazy days in high school football, one that saw upsets, two runners gain over 200-yard rushing, one quarterback throw for 450 yards and local teams move up in the standings.

Bears earn an unconventional, long-awaited football win
The way Menlo-Atherton's football team earned its first victory of the season Saturday over Leigh was quirky, unconventional and as far as the Bears were concerned, long overdue. A completed two-point conversion and a subsequent fumble recovery ultimately earned the Bears a 21-20 victory over visiting and previously unbeaten Leigh.
