The Menlo Park Legends moved closer to clinching the Pacific West Baseball League title with a 9-3 victory over the San Francisco Seagulls on Tuesday at Baylands Athletic Center. Menlo Park improved to 15-4 in its first season in the PWBL (24-7 overall) heading into a game Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) against the Seagulls at Baylands. Kellen McColl, who plays at Stanford during the school year, blasted a three-run triple in the first inning. Ben Clowe, another Stanford player, singled in Vic Rasor-Thompson in the second inning to provide the eventual winning and a 4-0 lead. McColl finished with three triples in three at-bats while driving in four runs.
