Senior forward Aubrey Dawkins poured in 26 points and Palo Alto withstood 11 three-pointers by host Homestead to post a 77-63 victory in SCVAL De Anza Division action on Friday night. The Vikings (4-0, 13-1) remained atop the division despite letting a 34-16 halftime lead nearly get away as the Mustangs warmed up in the second half from long range. Palo Alto saw a 65-45 lead in the fourth quarter whittled down to a nine-point advantage (69-60) before Mathias Schmutz and Keller Chryst tallied late baskets to seal the victory. Schmutz finished with 10 assists while Chryst scored 10 and added seven rebounds. Aldis Petriceks added 11 points for Paly.
