The Palo Alto boys' soccer team rallied from a one-goal deficit with two goals in the second half and posted a 3-2 nonleague victory over visiting Los Gatos on Monday. The Vikings (2-1) scored first in the 11th minute on a corner kick by Cina Vacir that was headed into the upper corner by Alex Chin. Los Gatos returned the favor with a goal just one minute later before the Wildcats to a 2-1 lead two minutes after that.
Trailing 2-1 at halftime, Paly tied it 10 minutes into the second half when Chris Meredith made a nice run past two defenders and had a one-on-one with the keeper before scoring. The go-ahead goal came upon a direct kick about 10 meters from the top of the box. Vacir bent the ball just past the keeper into the corner of the net.
