Battling back from an early two-stet deficit, No. 4-seeded Castilleja kept its hopes alive of defending its Central Coast Section Division V girls' volleyball title with a 19-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-13 victory over No. 5 Anzar on Saturday night in Palo Alto. The Gators (17-15) got a huge game of 29 kills, 29 digs and three blocks from senior Lucy Tashman while Madeline Johnson added 14 kills and three blocks with setter Hannah Hsieh contributing 64 assists and two aces. Castilleja next will play No. 1 seed Notre Dame-Salinas (22-10) in the semifinals on Wednesday (5:30 p.m.) at St. Francis-Central Coast Catholic in Watsonville.
