Menlo School tuned up for its showdown for first place in the West Bay Athletic League (Foothill Division) with a 25-21, 25-13, 25-19 win over visiting Castilleja on Tuesday. The Knights (8-1, 21-10) will host unbeaten Sacred Heart Prep on Thursday (5:45 p.m.) with a chance to tie for first place.
Melissa Cairo had a team-high eight aces and added 17 digs for the Knights while Elisa Merten added 30 assists, three aces and eight digs. Maddie Huber and Sarah Bruml each had nine kills while Morgan Dressel finished with eight.
Lucy Tashman had 15 kills for Castilleja (2-7, 15-15) while Jessica Norum added 17 digs.
