Gokul Natesan took the floor against host Palo Alto on Friday night averaging 22.8 points a game. Had the Vikings allowed the Cupertino senior to reach his average, they would have remained in sole possession of first place in the SCVAL De Anza Division. Instead, the 6-foot-3 Natesan drilled seven 3-pointers and finished with 32 points to upset the Vikings, 54-47. Paly fell to 7-2 in the division (17-3 overall). Senior Israel Hakim tallied 17 points for the Vikings, but junior standouts Aubrey Dawkins and E.J. Floreal were limited to single-digit scoring.
