The Palo Alto boys' soccer team settled for its second straight tie while batting host Milpitas to a 1-1 deadlock in SCVAL De Anza Division action on Mnday. The Vikings closed the first half of the division season at 0-4-2 (0-10-4 overall).
Paly grabbed an early lead at the 20-minute mark when junior Paul Stefanski sent a shot off the outside of his foot into the upper right corner of the cage. Milpitas earned the equalizer on a quick counter attack that saw the Trojans' keeper punt a long wind-aided kick that sailed over the Paly defense. Milpitas controlled the loose ball and scored, remaining just behind the Vikings in the standings at 0-5-1.
