The Palo Alto boys' basketball team has gone 11-1 in the SCVAL De Anza Division the past two seasons, but the Vikings won't improve upon that mark this season after suffering a 62-43 thumping at the hands of host Mountain View on Friday night. The Spartans (2-0, 10-3) made eight of 18 three-point attempts while shooting down Paly (1-1, 10-2).
Palo Alto grabbed an early 12-3 lead behind six points each by E.J. Floreal and Israel Hakim, who combine for 31 points, but Mountain View answered with 24 points in the second quarter to turn things around.
