Palo Alto's scoring troubles continued as the Vikings dropped a 3-0 decision to host Mountain View in a SCVAL De Anza Division boys' soccer match on Friday.
Paly dropped to 0-2 in league and 0-8-2 overall.
Mountain View scored its first goal in a closely played first half. The Spartans took advantage of a Paly defensive mistake and scored a second goal just minutes into the second half and finished up with a third goal midway through the second half.
"Paly played pretty well and competed through most of the game against a tough Mountain View team," said Paly coach Don Briggs, whose team will host rival Gunn on Wednesday in the first of two showdowns at 3:30 p.m.
