The Gunn girls’ soccer team continued its early season success as sophomore Sarah Robinson scored a first-half goal on an assist from Ming Ming Liu and the Titans’ defense made it hold up for a 1-0 victory over Sacred Heart Prep in the opening round of the Palo Alto Winter Classic on the Vikings’ football field Thursday night. The Gunn defense, led by captain Laura Hayward, was stellar as the Titans improved to 2-0. Freshman Emily Aiken fully embraced her new role on the team and played 80 minutes with nearly flawless backline distribution.
