Defending CIF Division I state champion Palo Alto lost its first football game since the 2009-2010 season following a 27-21 nonleague setback to Mitty on Friday night at Foothill College. The Vikings (1-1) beat the Monarchs (2-1) twice last season, but couldn't pull off a third straight win as they fell behind by 21-7 at the half before making it close in the second half.
Dre Hill scored a pair of touchdowns and B.J. Boyd added a third, with Hill's scores getting Paly to within 21-14 after three quarters. The loss ended Paly's 15-game win streak, which included last year's 14-0 mark.
