APOCALYPTIC PALO ALTO ... Kirby Wright, a former Palo Altan who taught creative nonfiction writing for the Palo Alto Adult School, has published an apocalyptic novel, "The End, My Friend." After the world's economies are destroyed, the president is assassinated and the country is overrun with looters, protagonists Tony and Evo take a dangerous journey north through California to find safety. (Along the way, they pass through an overgrown Stanford University and "the scorched campus of Palo Alto High.") The book is available on Amazon, Nook and other sites. Info:
