Senior Andrew Luck was honored as the Al Masters Award winner at the annual Stanford Athletic Board Awards Luncheon, highlighting Stanford's athletic success during the 2011-12 campaign . . . Stanford's Nicole Gibbs has been named the 2012 Campbell/ITA National College Player of the Year in women's tennis, the ITA announced last week. Additionally, Gibbs and doubles partner Mallory Burdette were named the Campbell/ITA National Women's Doubles Team of the Year . . . Castilleja has named Maeve Ward as its interim athletic director for the coming year. She replaces Jez McIntosh, who left to become Facilities, Event and Operations Manager at Stanford . . . Former Stanford football safety O.J. Atogwe signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. He spent last season with the Washington Redskins after six seasons with the St. Louis Rams . . . School may be officially over, but Stanford freshman track runner Aisling Cuffe is still keeping busy as she won the women's 3,000 meters at the USA Junior Championships at Indiana University in Bloomington on Sunday. Cuffe won easily in 9:28.93, well off her season best of 9:07.79 from the indoor season. While she was missed the meet record (9:16.23), Cuffe nonetheless surpassed the qualifying time for the 2012 IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain. The top two finishers, provided they have met the qualifying standards in each event, will be invited to compete in Barcelona as members of Team USA.
