SUMMER PLANT CLINIC ... UC Master Gardeners will hold a free, walk-in plant clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Gamble Garden, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. MANAGE PESTS ... David Perkins, a certified Integrated Pest Management advocate, will offer a class on "Integrated Pest Management" from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at Common Ground, 559 College Ave., Palo Alto. Emphasis will be on understanding the nature of the problem and choosing the right approach to dealing with it, from prevention to pesticides. Cost is $31. FARMERS MARKET REOPENS ... on Saturday, May 11, from 8 a.m. to noon on Gilman Street between Hamilton and Forest avenues (behind the post office), in downtown Palo Alto. The market, with fresh, locally produced foods, continues every Saturday through Dec. 14, rain or shine. A portion of sales is donated to Avenidas, a Palo Alto organization supporting older adults; to date donations are approaching $400,000.

VEGGIES — ASIAN STYLE ... Yannette Fichou Edwards will teach a cooking class on "Vegetarian Asian Style" from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, in Room 103 of Palo Alto High School, 50 Embarcadero Road, Palo Alto. Dishes include Pan Asian Tofu with lemongrass, asparagus and shiitake mushrooms; beer-battered vegetable tempura; and Taj tomato casserole with homemade curry.
