OAK-FRIENDLY LANDSCAPES ... Acterra is offering an "Oak-Friendly Landscaping Workshop" on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon at Shoup Park Garden House, 400 University Ave., Los Altos. BACKYARD DÉCOR ... Interior designer and Palo Alto Weekly columnist Kit Davey will teach a class called "Backyard Decorating: How to Create an Enchanting Garden" on Saturday, Feb. 5, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Common Ground Education Center, 599 College Ave., Palo Alto. VALENTINE LUNCHEON ... Gamble Garden's monthly luncheons note a Valentine theme on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at noon at Gamble Garden Center, 1431 Waverley St., Palo Alto. Complimentary docent-led tours follow lunch. Cost is $25 for nonmembers, $20 for members. Future luncheons are scheduled for March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8 and Sept. 21. SAY LOVE WITH CHOCOLATE ...
