Making fitness fun

YMCA program introduces kids to healthy lifestyles

Wednesdays after school at the Palo Alto Family YMCA, fifth-graders from Fairmeadow and Palo Verde elementary schools come together for Activate Youth, a program aimed at introducing kids to healthy habits.

The easiest way to get your kids to exercise is to encourage them to walk or bike to school. That's a fixed schedule and doesn't take any extra time out of their day.

This looks like a wonderful afterschool activity. I hope it will still be offered when my kids are in fifth grade.
