High School Athletes of the Week

Palo Alto High

The senior pitcher won four softball games by throwing 29 scoreless innings with 38 strikeouts and only seven hits allowed, topped by a perfect game with 14 strikeouts and a pair of two-hit 1-0 wins for the 6-0 Vikings.

Menlo School

The senior won all four of his doubles matches and three of four at No. 1 singles, including the deciding match in a 5-3 victory over top-seeded University (Irvine) to earn All-American honors and win the national invitational.
