Birgit
Starmanns is interested in seeing "the different effects
of light and unusual angles in different landscapes." New
York City provided the 39-year-old Director of Product Management
with a scene that featured unique lighting conditions. She was
visiting
the city with friends one weekend "which just happened to
be the weekend of the Blizzard of 2005," as the local news
called it."
She likes the photo because "the light was very unique
with the snow at dusk, with no traffic and few people on the
streets," and hopes viewers will be able to see the "almost
surreal motion of the pedestrians in the snow."
Starmanns has been taking photos seriously for 6 years and regularly
gets in her car with nothing but a camera to find new places
and inspirations for her
photography. She hopes to continue taking pictures and exhibit her work in the
future.
