Donna
J. Wan came across her winning photo in the midst of a search
for abandoned or discarded objects, the subject of a portfolio
she was working on, called "Artifacts."
She became interested in photography when a classmate
suggested she take a photography class at Foothill College. She
took her classmate's advice in the summer of 2002, and has taken
several more since that day. She will be enrolled in the master's
of fine art's program in photography at the San Francisco Art
Institute in the fall of this year.
Wan has lived in Menlo Park for five years. Her work has been
exhibited in several areas of Northern California, including
the Modernbook Gallery in Palo Alto.
