Margaret Marquardt passed away in the comfort of her Palo Alto home early Monday morning, Jan. 12, 2015, at the age of 103. "Peg," originally from Perma, Montana, is survived by two sons, Donald and Bruce Marquardt, and a daughter, Kathleen Gooyer. She also lives through eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Margaret was famous for her apple pies, watermelon pickles and snicker doodle cookies. She told everyone the trick to living such a long life was a bowl of oatmeal in the morning and not to be lazy. She loved the company of her family, bus trips to the casino and reading the paper. She was an inspiration to all and may we live as strong and bold as she did.
