Nurses' contract talks to resume today
Contract negotiations were scheduled to resume today between the nurses
union and officials at Stanford and Lucile Packard Children's hospitals.
The union has set a strike for 7 a.m. Wednesday, and the hospitals have
contracted with a nursing agency to provide replacement nurses in the
event of a strike.
"Stanford and Packard hospitals are committed to continuing negotiations
with our nurses in order to reach a contract agreement, and we remain
hopeful that we can do so," said Felix Bathelemy, vice president for human
resources for the hospitals.
