Keeping the lights on: An ongoing report of local power conditions
Uploaded: Thursday, January 18, 2001 11:15 a.m.

Rolling blackout hits again

Parts of the Stanford Research Park and south Palo Alto lost power at 10:30 a.m. today as the state's Independent System Operator triggered another series of rolling blackouts.

The ISO ordered Palo Alto to reduce electric consumption by 8.4 percent, twice as much as was taken offline Wednesday.

There is no immediate word on how long the current rolling blackout will last.

For a complete list of the city's rotating "blocks," showing the order of a rolling blackout, go to www.cpau.com, the Utility Department Web site. There is a place on that page to click to determine which block your address is part of.
