Blackout suspended, could resume at 6 p.m.
The rolling blackout that lasted from noon to 2 p.m. in parts of
Palo Alto was suspended at 2 p.m., but is expected to resume at
6 p.m.
The next area of Palo Alto to be affected is part of Stanford Research
Park.

is part of.

The state's Independent System Operator, which controls California's
power grid, declared a Stage Three alert at 1:45 a.m., with statewide
rolling blackouts beginning at noon. A Stage Three alert is declared
when statewide power reserves fall below 1.5 percent of capacity.
There was no immediate word on how long the rolling blackouts will
last tonight.
