Local florists handle weddings large and small
Mountain View shops offer elegance, thematic arrangements

by Karen Alden

The work of two Mountain View florists has won sufficient praise to be listed in Johanna Kaestners' "By Recommendation Only." They are Flowers by Linda and Design with Flowers.

Flowers by Linda
104 Calderon Avenue, Mountain View 94041; 969-7695
Owner Linda Rapposelli specializes in romantic garden weddings, but has handled elegant 600-guest hotel weddings as well. Weddings constitute almost half of her business. Rapposelli says that customers often request simplicity and elegance. In addition, the trend in floral arrangements these days is towards more color. Rapposelli's wedding packages typically cost $1,000-1,500, although she's done work for as little as $300 and as much as $15,000.

Design with Flowers
897 Independence Ave. 2F (behind Costco), Mountain View 94043; 254-1810
Owner Carol Ralles says her floral arrangements feature charm, individual style and elegance. She has trained with European and Asian designers and enjoys creating themes. She says, "I recently handled a wedding where the bride and groom were going to honeymoon in Paris, and they wanted Paris to be the theme of their wedding. I included a miniature Eiffel Tower in every table arrangement." Ralles' wedding arrangements typically start at $1,500, including centerpieces, bouquets and more.
