Man killed hanging Christmas lights is identified

| The man who was killed last Saturday while stringing Christmas lights outside an East Palo Alto apartment building has been identified as Raldy Sarceno-Cardona, 23, of East Palo Alto.
Sarceno-Cardona, an employee of Page Mill Properties, was on a ladder stringing lights on a Redwood tree when the lights touched a PG&E electric line, electrocuting him.
Fire crews arrived to find him hanging about 60 feet from the ground, apparently fused to the tree, Menlo Park Fire Protection District Chief Harold Schapelhouman said.

Thoughts go out to the young man's family. Not only for their loss, but also because the writer and others have lost their sense of sympathy, tact and class.

Bayshore), open 55 gallon drums of hydraulic oil, motor oil, car batteries & other hazardous waste dumped on site & in doorways, broken fire detection equipment, smoke detectors beeping low battery warnings, missing smoke detectors, broken emergency exit signs, inoperable fire doors, exposed live electrical wiring at 2 feet off the ground (toddlers height?), swimming pools not meeting child safety fence requirements, an occupied apartment door with no doorknob nor deadbolt, entire buildings we had no access keys to allow our response if called. Yes I saw investment of the astronomical rent increases, it was invested in hiring a Police Lt, a city Building Inspector, a Deputy DA, & a camera surveillance system in order to undermine law, order, & privacy.
