Unfortunately, this is the time of year when teachers leave doors open, people carry all sorts of stuff over school, teachers don't recognise each other as there are so many new members of staff, kids appear and start "helping" teachers, etc. etc. It is the time of year when everyone's vigilence is lax and thieves can have a bean feast.

Stuff could easily be misplaced, although I am not saying that this is what has happened here. It is just a well known time of chaos.

I was at one of the elementary schools the week before school started. One classroom had stuff piled outside across two lunch tables. It looked like it had been there for days. It was mostly workbooks and stuff - not anything like computer equipment or stuff of interest or value to most people. Still, this bothered me. It wasn't until school started that I realized why it was left out. A new teacher was taking over the classroom.
