Student robbed at knifepoint on campus

Bookmark and Share
A Stanford University student was robbed by a man with a knife or a box-cutter about 11:40 p.m. Monday as the student was walking along Palm Drive near Arboretum Road.

The man then ran to downtown Palo Alto and was arrested by Palo Alto police who heard the call about the robbery, Stanford Sheriff's Deputy Chris Cohendet said.

There was no information available about the student.

The man who was arrested, who was Hispanic and in his late teens or early 20s, may not have had identification on him because he was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail as a John Doe, Cohendet said.

Thankfully this incident ended up with no one being hurt. I am glad that there were no guns involved in this one or the story would have been different. Well done PAPD.

Yes, bravo to the PAPD. Sad though, that people are not able to walk at night.
