Exhibit: Hauntings: American Photographs, 1845-1970
A new exhibit at Stanford's Cantor Arts Center, "Hauntings: American Photographs, 1845-1970," displays 22 images of people and places from times gone by. The free show is up through July 7, open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursdays until 8. Go to events.stanford.edu.
Science: Astronomy from the Stratosphere
As part of the 13th annual Silicon Valley Astronomy Lecture Series, infrared astronomer Dana Backman, Ph.D., of the SETI Institute, will discuss "Astronomy from the Stratosphere: NASA's SOFIA Mission," an illustrated, non-technical lecture.
